07 Apr Today, It’s About St. Al’s
Greetings from The Klassic where our thoughts and prayers are with Gonzaga’s beloved church, St. Aloysius, which has been in use since 1859 and which suffered significant roof damage during storms yesterday. The Klassic is thankful that no one was hurt; all the while, we are heartbroken at the images of St. Al’s and the damage it suffered.
Erik spent much time in St. Al’s – Masses, wind ensemble concerts and graduation. It played a crucial role in molding Erik into a Man for Others. St. Al’s continues that mission today for the young Men of Eye Street. Erik absolutely cherished Gonzaga, and The Klassic is proud to continue its support of Gonzaga and its mission of educating young men in the Jesuit tradition since 1821.
Our support continues in just under one month – May 5, 2017 – at the Courses at Andrews. Help us support Erik’s memorial scholarship fund by registering to golf, making a donation, sponsoring The Klassic, volunteering, or learning more about Erik. You can do it all at www.kristensenklassic.com. Don’t wait – do so today!
Ken Schulz has – Ken is one of our most-recently-registered golfers. Jason Petty, John Bryant and Harry Palm also registered to golf. We say THANK YOU Gentlemen! We say THANK YOU to C. Michael Pappas of Telligent Masonry Construction and Pablo Perez (Erik’s Gonzaga Class of ’90) of Americana Grocery for their hole sponsorships. We say THANK YOU to Lynne Malinowski, who is our newest volunteer for 2017. THANK YOU Lynne!
We say THANK YOU to all of our supporters. We can’t wait to see you and your smiles and laughs on May 5. Erik is foremost in our minds this morning as we approach The Tenth Annual Klassic. We close this note, however, the way Erik would want us to close.
We say simply:
To St. Al’s!
