What’s in those two words? To those who support The Klassic, everything. “To Erik!” encapsulates the generosity of our fantastic sponsors. “To Erik!” speaks to the enthusiasm of our golfers and volunteers. “To Erik!” sums up the love we have for Ed and Sam Kristensen and for the Williams Family. “To Erik!” is inclusive of the family that has become all those associated with The Klassic.
Our goal was, is, and always will be to honor Erik. To keep his spirit alive and well. And, to grow his legacy at his high school Alma Mater, Gonzaga. This is what we mean when we say to each other, “To Erik!”
This year, The Klassic once again was a triumph. The good people at PB Dye had everything ready for us and a wonderful course enjoyed by all. Our sponsors’ generosity as well as the golfers’ and donors’ support ensured success. We anticipate supporting Gonzaga with a gift of approximately $40,000 – all due to the dedication of The Klassic’s backers. Thank you! Special congrats to the winning foursome of Tom Buchanan (Gonzaga Class of ’72), Mike Kelly, William Sullivan, and Steve Weiler!
Lastly, we solemnly give a final commendation to one of The Klassic’s first supporters. Chris Donatelli (Gonzaga Class of ’85), along with his brother Ted, generously supported The Klassic as Admiral Sponsors in our early years. Chris was a generous man and a family man. He wanted The Klassic to succeed in every way. We know Erik welcomed Chris with a pair of heavenly Birkenstocks. May Chris rest in peace, and may his family find comfort at their time of loss.
